This is the home for the digital versions of our Walk With Me audio tours that you can download and walk in your own time. The digital versions of Spon End and Stoke are coming soon, but especially for this August Bank Holiday weekend, we invite you to test WWM#4:
Naul’s Mill Park to The Nest via Coventry Canal
For the August Bank Holiday weekend, we’d love you to help test a preview of our latest soundwalk, and then, when you reach The Nest, pop in for a free cuppa and let us know what you thought of the walk, and of the digital experience.
The walk starts from Naul’s Mill Park on Middleborough Road (which is a short walk from the city centre either via Upper Hill Street > the blue bridge over the ring road > Coundon Road or via the Radford Road and a left turn after the Fire Station) and you will need to download the audio to access the walk. You can also download and print out the map if you would like to (or pick up a paper map from the Canal Basin or The Nest).
There are several benches along the route – feel free to take a seat at the Canal Basin or along the towpath if your feet need a rest. You are in control of when the audio starts and stops so you can take the walk as slowly as you like.
We reckon the walk preview version currently takes about an hour.
This preview tour currently ends at Talking Birds’ new home, The Nest on Sandy Lane Business Park. We are open Sat/Sun/Mon over the Bank Holiday weekend 12-4pm and would love to hear what you thought worked or didn’t work. We’ll also give you a free cuppa or cold drink while we chat! (Plus we also have Gloria & Lil’s running a pop up bank holiday cafe so if you can stop a bit longer why not grab some lunch or cake – or both – and have a look around The Nest?).
You can do the walk outside of these hours but you won’t get to come into The Nest for a chat and a cuppa – although we’d still love to hear your feedback (contact us here).
We will be running the preview walk with free cuppa again on the second Heritage Open Day weekend 18th & 19th September.
You can pick up a paper copy of the map, which includes details of how to access the audiowalk, from the Canal Basin (City Hosts or the Weighbridge Office) and also from The Nest.
