Two Writing House Residencies at The Nest – deadline November 22nd
What are the burning issues that you’d really like to begin exploring through narrative for the stage? Urban, political, social, personal? This ‘Writing House’ residency offers you the opportunity to begin a journey. It is part-funded by a legacy donation from Theatre Absolute, who commissioned and developed work with writers throughout its 30 + year history in Coventry.
Experience suggests that early stages of contact with writers is often the most crucial – spending time talking ideas through, and identifying places to start. This new residency offers the opportunity to take that time: thinking, writing, stopping, thinking some more, with added mentoring support from Theatre Absolute’s award-winning writer and artistic director Chris O’Connell.
Deadline 22 November
Two residencies, each with 5 days dedicated studio space and a fee of £600
Residencies will take place mid January (dates tbc with successful writers) at The Nest
This opportunity is open to writers at any stage of their career who are based in the CV postcode area.
As with other residencies we offer, we ask artists to produce a reflective blogpost at the end of their time with us.

Festive Art Party
We commission 3 artists each year to provide a have-a-go sociable keep-your-hands-busy table-top workshop activity for the Festive Art Party – our annual December gathering for the creative community.
This year, the FAP is on Friday December 18th from 6pm-9pm. Workshop activities can be set up anytime from 2pm, and ideally people will be able to make something to take away with them – it might be a gift, a decoration, or even a talisman for the year to come.
If you have an idea you would like to propose for the Festive Art Party, please drop us a line!
