The first session of the Citizens’ Assembly was held online on Tuesday 26th October at 6.30pm. In the meeting were the Assembly participants, facilitators (for looking after small groups), scribes (for taking notes in small groups), a couple of observers (members of the Oversight Group – like a board of directors for the Assembly) and the Assembly hosts Andy and Susan from Mutual Gain.

Much of the activity for this first session was designed to enable Assembly members to get familiar with using online meeting tools, and to get to know each other a bit. We also explored critical thinking and creative thinking and heard more about what the process of the Citizens’ Assembly will involve.

We heard from Talking Birds about their reasons for calling the Assembly, and about what they mean by the terms arts and culture.

Assembly input from Janet at Talking Birds contextualising the Assembly and Arts & Culture.
